• How do I schedule an appointment?

Appointment times can be set up by telephone, on line or in person. We do accept walk-ins when scheduling allows. On Saturdays, it is strongly recommended that you schedule your appointments up to 2 days in advance.

  • What are your hours?

We are conveniently open from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Saturday, and 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Sundays. To accommodate our clients with a 9-5 work week, we have a play/spa package to offer on a limited basis for dogs 30lb. and under, which allows your pet to stay all day for a nominal fee, when added to any groom package.

  • What do I need to bring?

Current vaccination records especially the Rabies record of vaccination. You can also bring your pet`s favorite clean blanket or toy.

  • Do you require that my dog and/or cat be fully vaccinated?

For puppies and kittens 6 months or older, you must provide proof of Rabies vaccinations.
For adult pets that are getting groomed, in the best interest of your pet and other visiting pets, we recommend vaccination annually. For pets that are allergic to rabies vaccination, health verification from your pet`s vet will be accepted. For cage free stay, please be ready to provide current vaccination records for rabies, distemper and parvovirus (DHLPP), and Corona/Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccines. Additionally, if your pet exhibits any signs of illness (vomiting, diarrhea, excessive coughing, etc..), please call to reschedule your appointment when your pet feels better or has been seen by a Vet.

  • How long will it take to cut my pet`s hair?

On average, a small dog grooming takes about 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours depending on the coat length. A medium or large size dog will take longer, to ensure that the pet’s coat is completely dry. In addition, before they get their hair cut, the coat will need to be properly brushed or shed out.

  • What does my pet do at the grooming shop?

When your pet comes into the PetSalon, we will first have an initial consultation with you to create a personalized grooming plan for your pet. We perform an overall evaluation of your pet`s coat, teeth, and ears, and discuss the service options. Next, your pet will be introduced to their professional stylist. Then the grooming process will begin. The grooming process is a series of 5 main steps. First, the prep work, which includes brushing, matt removal or pre clipping, nail trim, ear cleaning and sanitation clipping. Second, after a small relaxation break, your pet will go to the bathing room, where they will be shampooed twice with Oatmeal Shampoo and Tearless Shampoo for their face and Oatmeal conditioner plus a hydro-therapy massage. After that, they will be brushed and blown dry. Then your pet, after a small relaxation break, will head to our styling area for their final finish clip, styling, and some “pizazz” if so chosen. Finally, we will call you for the pick up, and your pet will relax on a cozy pad, and get a yummy treat while they wait for you to arrive.

  • Can I watch my pet being groomed?

Yes, we have a sitting area where you will be able to view your pet as they are being styled and groomed. As a matter of fact, you are welcome you to take a tour of our facility. We are not only proud of our salon, but also proud of our staff. As pet owners ourselves, we understand that you are concerned about your pet’s care, so we don’t mind being on display. In fact we love it. All we ask, is while your pet and other pets are being styled, that you refrain from getting their attention or calling their name, so they do not wiggle. Our stylists want to do their very best and focus on making your pet look and feel great.

  • At what age can my puppy be groomed?

We recommend that puppies come in after their first round of shots (about 10 weeks of age). It is important for your pet’s overall health and mental well-being to have regular grooming and socialization with other animals and people. For pets that are going to require regular full grooming, due to coat length or breed clips, it is particularly important that they get used to their groomer, and learn to love being bathed and pampered.

  • My dog can be aggressive. Can you groom my pet?

We apologize in advance, but we do not groom pets that are specifically trained guard dogs. We will also not groom “intact” (un-neutered) Chow Chows, Akita`s,or Wolf -hybrids that can bite and seriously injure our stylists. If your pet is occasionally aggressive we will have to do an initial evaluation, and depending on the size of your pet and the manageability of your pet`s aggression, we may be able to groom them.We will make every effort to work with and groom rescue dogs that may be fear biters,in order to help with the rehabilitation process.

  • Will you work on my dog if they have to be tranquilized for grooming?

Pets that suffer from severe separation anxiety and stress, may have to be tranquilized by your veterinarian in order to be groomed comfortably. We believe that a pet`s comfort is one of the most important aspects for successful grooming. We will be happy to work with your vet`s medication instructions in order to groom your pet.
